Terminology

None of these words has a settled meaning yet. The field is young, and everyone working in it, us included, is still finding out what they mean. Here is what they mean to us today; as our work teaches us more, this page will change.

Coding agent
A program that writes and changes code when you ask it, such as Claude Code, Codex, Grok or Mistral Vibe. It runs in a terminal, signed in with your account at its vendor.
Agent Development Environment
The app where you work with coding agents, as an IDE is where you work with code: their terminals, the files they change, the checks they run, the Workflows they follow and the records they leave, side by side. Osynk is an Agent Development Environment.
Podium
Osynk’s main window, named for the place a conductor stands to see the whole orchestra. At a glance it shows which agent needs you, what each one is doing and why, what it has made and what it uses of your Mac.
Harness
What a coding agent runs inside: the folders and services it may reach, the tools it may use, the record of what it did and the controls you keep. Osynk gives every agent one.
Software factory
The system that builds a piece of software: the Workflows it follows, the checks and tests every change must pass, the design it must respect and the records of each job. You design the factory; the coding agents work in it.
Self-improving
Said of a software factory that learns from its own records. A finding from past jobs becomes a proposed change, you approve it or not, and later jobs show whether it helped.
Workflow
The steps of one kind of job, written down once: its Stages, who does each one, who checks it and where you decide.
Agentic Coding
Building software with coding agents doing the writing and the checking, while people decide what to build and what good looks like. Our page of that name shows a software factory at work.
AI Native
A company whose work is designed around AI, where the people who know the business shape the systems that do the work. Helping companies become AI Native is half of what we do.
